By what common experience do we enter into spiritual fellowship and Covenant relations with one another?

Having been led, as we believe by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, we do now is the presence of God and this assembly most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as the body of Christ. Matthew 28: 9-20, St. John 1: 11:12


What is the basis of our union with one another?

To walk together in Christian love by the power of the Holy Spirit. St. John 13: 34-35


What are our privileges and duties in the Church?

To work for the advancement of this Church in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; to promote its prosperity and its spirituality; to sustain its worship ordinances, discipline, and doctrines. Philippians 1:27


What responsibility do we take as stewards of what God has given us?

To contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the Church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations. I Corinthians 16:2, II Corinthians 8: 6-7


What gracious tasks do we humbly assume?

To maintain family and private devotions: to biblically educate our children; to seek the salvation of anyone with whom we may come in contact. Deuteronomy 6:4-7, Proverbs 11:30, Acts 1: 8, II timothy 3: 15.


What shall be our manner of life and conversation with another member?

To walk above reproach in the world; to be fair in our dealings, faithful in our commitments; to avoid all tattling, backbiting, and undisciplined anger; or sister in Christ to sin; to be zealous in our efforts to spread the good news of our Savior’s love. Ephesians 5: 15, 18, Philippians 2: 14-15, Hebrews 2: 15, I Peter 2: 11-12, I Peter 2:21


Since we have become children of God, by what ministries are we to Strengthen each other?

We shall watch over each other in brotherly love, remember one another in prayer and help one another in sickness and distress. We will cultivate Christian courtesy in speech, and always be ready for reconciliation- being mindful of the rules of our Savoir to secure it without delay. Ephesians 4: 30, James 2: 14-17, 1 Peter 1: 22, 1 Peter 3: 8


What is our agreement when we move from the Fredericksburg area?

We will as soon as possible unite with another Church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s word. Hebrews 10: 23 – 25


What benediction concludes our covenant?

May the grace of Christ our Savior and the love of our Father fill you with the Holy Spirit both now and forever. Amen.
